WA & BC Motorcycle trip - September 19-21, 2005

Days 1&2 | Day 3

West of Vernon on a nice "Twisted Edges" side road. It's rated at DH68 and called Barnhartvale Rd., just east of Kamloops.

A close of of the back of the Aprilia. That's an Avon rear tire.

South of Kamloops on Rte. 5A (DH31). A lonely, gently curving road along a chain of lakes. A good place to go at sustained, very high speeds, while enjoying a constant rhythm of long curves.

Looking west on Rte. 8 (DH9) heading to Spences Bridge from Merrit. This road follows the Nicola river and has plenty of twisties.

Dramatic bluffs alongside Rte. 8. Pretty good pavement, great curves. Some gravel on the road though.

East end of Rte. 12 (DH40) along the Fraser River.

A slightly precarious stretch on Rte. 12, with a long drop down to the river. Metal fencing was installed at the base of the cliff to catch falling rocks. Guess they didn't have enough room to install a guardrail.

The north end of Rte. 99 (DH3) at Lillooet. This road flanks Cayoosh Creek, and while the pavement's a bit rough in spots, it's a great road. Lots of traffic though with many RVs and trailers. Probably the most dramatic scenery on the trip though.
