Custom sails
I had Eric Taylor up in Sequim, WA build me a new mainsail and jib. He suggested the aramid fiber cloth. I wanted a fatter head on the main and a bigger jib. His website is here. We decided to go with slug slide rather than a bolt rope to make it easier to hoist the sail. I know that results in an air gap behind the mast, but it just makes life easier. The sails seem to provide more than enough power for me.
Plan for the jib. It's 89 sq. ft. in size vs. he Solcat's 45 sq. ft. jib.
The new mainsail is 190 sq. ft. in size vs. the Solcat's 175 sq. ft. mainsail.
The jib on Eric's sail loft floor.
New sails rigged for the first time.
