Jim and Rob's Big Exciting Eastern Oregon Motorcycle Ride - October 2013

Day 1 | Day 2

Our route on Day 2

Frost on the seats in the morning. We were careful to watch out for ice on the roads, but didn't see any.

Middle Fork road between Bates and Ritter Hot Springs. I love this road..

Free-range livestock.

The west end of Middle Fork road where it meets Rte. 395.

A chicken checking out our bikes on the way to Ukiah on Rte. 395.

One of many 'Curve' signs on Rte. 395 south of Ukiah. Anyone know what they're all about?

Snow on the side of the Willow Creek Rd. between Ukiah and Heppner. We did see new snow on various mountain tops. A sign said Willow Creek Rd. closes for the winter on October 15th. We just made it.

Hay farm on the way into Heppner.

It was deer hunting season. Deer skins here on the outskirts of Heppner. It was pretty gross. Clearly someone needs to empty these cans more often.

Rob winding down Rte. 206 into Six Mile Canyon on the way to Condon. It's a huge descent.

On the way back to Antelope from Fossil.

The Clarno Unit of the John Day Fossil Beds.

Rob heading back up to Shaniko.

Rob again.

Rob again.

The Deschutes river on the way back to Maupin. The BLM Access Rd. between Maupin and Shearer's Bridge is particularly beautiful.

Another view of the Deschutes.
