Beartooth Pass

Unfortunately it was raining lightly when I woke up the morning I was to ride Beartooth Pass. I donned my rain gear and headed up the grade anyway. Had to wait about a half an hour for the pilot car to guide me around some serious road construction. I hadn't ridden this pass last time I was in the area because the road seemed so rough. It got better. Much better in fact. What a crazy road! The pass tops out at 10,947 feet! Alas, for me, much of that was in the clouds. So besides the cold and the rain, visibility was awful. I felt like the Michelin man with my down coat under my leathers, and my rain gear on top of all that. Will have to go back.
