Riding the South Trails.
I paddle boarded with friend Mica this morning to the new campsite run by the same people that run the one I'm in. It's nice. They have hot showers too, but a pretty limited number of good sites. Glad we're here. We paddled about 3 miles over very clear water. So many fish. Schools of hundreds just below us. We also passed over a school of abou 10 rays with wingspans approx. 1.5 feet. They're black on top and white on the bottom. You can tell when they flap their wings the tips curl up and show the white underneath.
I'm including a few random pics of the campground. One is of a pretty fancy gray water drainage system. Sink water goes in the sand below your vehicle or trailer, ideally into a bucket buried in the sand with holes drilled into the bottom and filled partly with rocks. Seems to work well.

Produce storage in my van.
Two nights ago friend Tom drove Mica and I to Marisco's restaurant where I had my favorite restaurant meal here. Shrimp with cream cheese wrapped in bacon, broiled with a creamy sauce on top. Pretty rich, but yum! After that went to a small birthday gathering around 2 propane fire pits. A gal Mel had the birthday. I did board repair for her last year in exchange for beer. My site-mate Dave came. Bill my guitar playing friend was there too. Really nice. Met some folks who I went biking with the next morning.
Dinner at Marisco's. My favorite meal in La Ventana.
Last year I emailed too many pictures of fish tacos that I make in my van. I won't this year, but I'm including a few from last night's Bonita fish BBQ. Been dreaming about doing this since leaving Baja last year. Sauteed onions, cilantro and Poblano peppers on top with avocado slices and squeezed lime. Nice with a margarita.
