Wind and Mr. Fish

Finally got some wind yesterday. Had a great windsurf session a couple of hours long. A little sore today, but that's nice. The wind varied from 18 to 22 mph during the afternoon. I saw a whale while sailing in towards shore. Looked downwind to the south and saw a gigantic tail sticking straight up out of the water backlight by the afternoon sun. At first I thought it must something man made since it was so big, but then it smashed its tail down onto the water and make a gigantic splash. Did it 3 or 4 times. Each time the tail came up, water cascaded off of it. I bore off downwind to get closer. Another windsurfer headed straight towards it too. I got maybe 75' from it before it went under and blew water out its blow hole several times. Awe inspiring.

Friend Tom gave us a ride to the Mr. Fish taco stand. I'd never been. Oh my was that ever good! Lots of toppings at the condiment bar. The fish was deep fried, but lightly. 3 big tacos for about $7.

In line at Mr Fish.

Here's a foil board that you ride by pumping (jumping up and down). To get it going you paddle with your hands in a kneeling position with plastic plate hand flippers attached to your fingers. We talked to the guy who had just tried it. Tough to get up on a foil unless you have some swell to ride down. Amazing.
